11/10: Now that I’ve finished mine, time to start hubby’s. Gonna take some modification for his ginormous hands.
11/15: So far I’ve gotten a swatch knit. Ugh, what a week.
11/22: I got the first couple of rows on last night. Funny thing is, I’ve only got 9” needles in size 5, and these mitts are going to be 9” long. Yeah.
11/30: Switched to circular needles so the end didn’t keep falling off the needle, and I got one all done except for the sewing up while visiting my parents for Thanksgiving.
12/6: So I got one to finished but not joined and hubby thinks its going to be too tight on his forearms (they are huge). I’m pondering options, I really don’t want to have to undo too much. The yarn is fine enough and his hands are huge enough that it took me a lot longer to do one than both of them for me…
12/14: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGgghh. Seaming this has been a giant pain in my butt. First I finished but had somehow dropped 5 stitches on one side. So then I undid the whole thing and started again, only to realize that I had to have been doing it wrong, so now I have to undo it again and start over. Reading up on kitchener some more, I think I need to knit another row on one side and switch the direction I pick up stitches on the provisional cast on. grarl.
12/20: Figured out my kitchener issues, finally, after I got the first one seamed up. Oh well, next one will be better. It has a thumb so far!
12/22: Using different size 5 needles and it’s going much more smoothly. Texture of the others must’ve been wrong for this yarn or something. It’s confusing, because they’re both bamboo.
