This is a beautiful shallow shawl! It’s great to work on while watching TV.
I neglected to weigh my yarn at the start. the finished shawl weighs 168g in total and i’ve calculated yardage based on 1/3 would be the natural heather and 2/3 for the avocado and ravelry likes to round, so I rounded to use more yardage.

Twisting Method for Crochet Colorwork You Tube Video by Poetry in Yarn so you don’t need to weave in lots of ends. (i used half of this technique so my edge floats are really long)
Notes
2014-08-21- I crochet very loosely. 4.5mm (suggested hook) was no where near suggested gauge. 3.75mm hook isn’t either… (note my yarns are likely a lighter weight than the sample yarn.)
2014-08-22- 3mm hook makes a very nice fabric but I also went down to a 2.5mm (pictured in swatch). once the swatch dries I’ll make a final determination. (2pm: used the dryer rack, looks like to my surprise 3.75mm is the winner!)
2014-08-24- Sparky is such a helpful foster kitten!
2014-09-01- finished increases!
2014-09-04- the foster kittens went to New Rochelle Humane Society this morning to await their forever homes. I miss them. But I finished the straight section faster now that Sparky isn’t here to help. sniff
2014-09-10- RIPPED back all decreases. Why? realized I wasn’t decreasing. When exactly did I learn to crochet … Or read? :(
2014-09-16- finished! ran some sc along the edge as i hadn’t thought at the beginning. was going to match the sc to the stripe but Shadow was napping on the natural cone and i couldn’t get the yarn out. Total weight = 168g. still need to block but it’s grey and rainy today.
