For a friend’s wedding gift. Going to see if I can knit this and all my other projects within 2 months. Yeah, I’m crazy again. If I’m going to finish this before the wedding, I need to knit a minimum of 8 rows a day, preferably 10 rows.

Knitting these on a smaller needle because I’ve read and experienced this yarn to be closer to DK than worsted. I didn’t make a swatch so crossing fingers it does well in a washing machine and dryer.

Skein weight avg: 105g

Progress has been good so far and I’ve managed to keep up with my daily minimum. I attached the second skein on row 43. I’m worried I’ll get bored of knitting these once I get to a certain point, but the great thing is I’m still riding my ‘I don’t hate purling’ wave.

I’m catching myself spending too much time inserting the needle too far in, I think it has something to do with the project not being long enough and therefore has no stability.

First week: 64 rows.

March 22, 2019

Ripped back about 10 rows (a day’s progress) because I didn’t YO in one spot and it was driving me mental. Plus I f’d up in a couple of other k3tog/sssk spots so the stitch count was off. These things were recoverable but I’m too much of a perfectionist and it’s not for me.

I hate it when I go into auto pilot mode.

March 26, 2019

Second Week: 49 rows.

Still about a day behind after ripping back. Finished one full diamond repeat, yay.

April 1, 2019

Third Week: 56 rows.

At least two days behind. Trying to hit the gas pedal so I can start on another project because I’m crazy.

April 8, 2019

Fourth week: 44 rows.

Massively behind because I hardly had time to knit over the weekend. Bridal shower + Project Swatches = nope. Need to somehow play catch up this week for my sanity and because I don’t like being this far behind. I wish I didn’t find the WS rows so boring to knit. Don’t hate purling yet, but boring.

April 10, 2019

Hit halfway late last night. Still behind overall. disappointed

Fifth week: 77 rows!

I was able to be a sports maniac couch potato last weekend and pushed really hard on at least catching up, and then surpassed my scheduled daily goal for Sunday. I’m going to try and ramp up production so I can get done a few days earlier than I originally scheduled.

April 17, 2019

Ripped back again some 20 rows or so. I noticed both side decreases weren’t lining up with the other decreases and it was bothering me. Even after ripping back and redoing it, they still don’t line up. I’m at a point where I’m not going to care about these small mistakes, figure out a solution when I get to some point and move on.

April 22, 2019

Sixth week: 45 rows.

I basically didn’t knit this a whole lot this week, even with the rip back. Didn’t feel like knitting on Saturday. At least I’m about 75% done.

April 29, 2019

Seventh week: 72 rows.

Almost caught up to being on track to finish this week. The home stretch! Never thought I’d see the light at the end of the extremely warm tunnel.

FINISHED! So glad this is done.

Machine washing causes it to pill every time. Tumble drying shrinks it back to it’s unblocked size. I’ve gone through three cycles of machine washing and twice tumble drying, used the Gleener between each cycle and more fluff appears. Most of the initial pilling was gone after the second cycle, the third and last rinse to final block it was mainly fuzz, no big pills.

I know my friend will machine wash and dry this so I’ll advise her to do it maybe up to twice a season and it should stretch out with use.

Unblocked: 58” x 34”
Blocked: 66” x 52”
Leftover: 32.15g

Overall loved the pattern, probably would’ve enjoyed it more if I didn’t have to rush and make all those little mistakes that exponentially grow. I might make one for myself far down the road, I need a break from throws.
