02/11

I’m loving this pattern so far. Currently I’m halfway done with the right front. The bad news is as the weather starts warming up, the less I’ll be able to work on this. My hands are already getting kinda sweaty, but my goal is to have a large chunk of this done by March/April before I have to put this down until late fall.

02/16

Finished the right side and starting the left. For awhile I thought I was knitting a scarf, but a less boring scarf so this doesn’t feel so bad thus far. I have a feeling I’m going to hate knitting the body and sleeves.

03/04

Finished the left side, joined the two sides and started picking up stitches for the back. I thought about blocking the sides beforehand because I think it’d be easier than later on, but went against my judgment.

03/18

Back is done. That didn’t take as long as I thought it would. Put on a TV show, movie or YouTube vid and knit until I couldn’t knit anymore. I should’ve had this done earlier if I didn’t get back into online gaming with friends again. I really wished I got this done earlier because the weather is starting to warm up and having everything sit on my lap is getting hot.

03/22

Left sleeve left to knit. Home stretch.

03/26

All done knitting and weaving in those pesky ends. I can’t wait for this to finish drying so I can sew this and be done done.

03/28

Another project in the books. I loved this project. Rather quick compared to some of my other projects, very enjoyable knit. I loved the whole thing I’m thinking of making another in a different color. I was worried about the tweed being too much of a distraction but it blends beautifully with the cable work.

I should also note I didn’t block properly. I washed and laid mainly the cable section flat to dry. Lazy. I was worried the collar edge was going to curl under but it’s fine.

The yarn was a dream to work with. So soft, the merino gives enough bounce back and the tweed. I love a great tweed. I wish I bought more in a different colorway before it quietly vanished.
