The dream is finally becoming reality. I knew it’d be worth waiting to make this, plus everything on sale. First time working with Longrider DK and now I’m sad it’s been discontinued. I’ll be on the hunt for more DK merino/nylon blends.

Finished the colorwork section yesterday and split the sleeves today. I LOVE this project. Too bad I’m done with the colorwork section because I was enjoying it. At least now I don’t have to knit as many stitches.

About 9” from the armholes and about to attach the next two skeins. I’m thinking about knitting another 2” before starting the ribbing because I want it a tad longer. I need to figure out if I can do that and not play yarn chicken.

Finished the main body and 1” of ribbing so far. I went to 10” for the body before starting the ribbing as planned. I shouldn’t have a shortage problem but who knows.

One sleeve down. After the decreases, I knitted to 16” and did 3” ribbing. Not a fan of folding over cuffs.
I don’t know why I had the worst time knitting this. Part was the start was executed horribly that I decided half way through to rip everything out and start over about 5 days ago. Then I had to keep switching between short and long cables because for whatever reason my brain wasn’t into doing magic loop. I’ve done magic loop for all my in the round sleeves, but I think I find myself pulling on that first stitch too tightly that it looks weird. I’ve tried to do different things to stop myself from making everything look weird but nothing seems to work. I thought about buying even shorter cables but the thought of doing that when I already have a million needles turned me off.

Finished second sleeve. I hate being sick, otherwise I would’ve finished this earlier.

Finished and blocking. I can’t wait to wear this all the time. It’s sooooo soft and cozy.
Kinda annoyed that I had to break into a fifth skein to finish the front bands, and I didn’t bother alternating either since it’s a PITA. Not fond of how badly the front edges turned out, that’s my fault for not knowing to not slip stitches with colorwork. At least now I know for next time. Also don’t like how holey all the M1s are by doing it the suggested way. After looking at them, I don’t think they’ll pucker as much even with the colorwork. If anything it makes it look worse because you can see the floats. It could also be because I used a slightly thinner yarn than actual worsted.
ETA: throwing it in the dryer for about 10 minutes at the end of it’s blocking really made a difference. I was getting frustrated that the colorwork wasn’t drying and the heat made it tighten up just enough so it’s not as bad.
