my early tapestry crochet phase, second design. i had a distinct notion of what i wanted, and all i did as pre-planning was to make a chart for the greek key pattern so i knew how many stitches i needed for it. the wavy rim is stitched around braided jute cord (a bad idea, since fibres poke through in a few places, but it was the only relatively stiff thing around at the time).

it fits me better than the balloon in the picture, but it could use a remake anyway, a bit looser, and taller for my face shape. :)
