A jumper for Barry using the delicious yarns from Rowan
Casted on the sleeve first so that I can check the tension ;)
I have to say how much I am enjoying knitting this so far, it is not the sort of knitting that you can speed through as the twisted stitches are worked on both sides. The Colourspun is a bit fibrey but you get into a rhythm with it and I have found that not pulling the stitches too tightly before you slip off the 2 twisted ones, really helps with the twisting on the next row
I’m using a size smaller needle than the pattern calls for but I knit loosely
I love the subtle colours in the main yarn, purple blue and teal, although I haven’t come across the teal yet
2nd August: first sleeve finished, tried it on for size and he’s still wearing just one sleeve half an hour later, see photo… Think he likes it

I have now finished one sleeve and the back. cast on for the front 2 days ago, I need to finish this, it’s making my fingers sore so I have to do something less taxing on my hands in between, like sewing or making bread haha

Almost up the armholes of the front, enjoying the twisting rib now, but it is a lot slower than other knits that I have made

I managed to finish this gorgeous jumper in time for Barry’s birthday on the 29th November 2015
He loves it!
I have noticed that the ribbing, done in the DK yarn felted tweed, has flared out a bit. I would work those rows on a smaller needle than suggested in the design
Very happy to have completed this though, all that twisting on both sides of the work…a real labour of love
Also, the sleeves came out about 2” too long for my not so tall husband <3
