Notes

Planning:
Seed St Collar
Long sleeves
Join to knit in circle after yoke

10/18/11:
CO 83
Work seed st for 3” (collar), ending in RS
(WS) Setup row - k29 in place of k28
Increase following pattern till 257 sts
Front | Sleeve | Back | Sleeve | Front
36 | 56 | 73 | 56 | 36

10/20/11:
Sleeve separation:
(RS) k36, remove marker (rm), k1, transfer 54 sts to scrap yarn, CO 11, k1, rm, k73, rm, k1, transfer 54 sts to scrap yarn, CO 11, k1, rm, k36 (total: 171 sts)

Knit 4 rows (join at end of 4th row) before joining.

Join to knit in round. Join by slipping 1 st purlwise from left to right needle, and pass the last st on right needle over the slipped st, like in Binding off. This helps eliminate the “steps” when knitting in round and create a smooth join. (total 170 sts)

P one round, k one round, p one round, then commence to Cable Pattern.

Cable pattern:
Changed garter to seed st.
Changed cable to Braided Cable

Braided Cable: (over 6 sts)

round 1), 2): knit

round 3): cr4R, k2

round 4), 5): knit

round 6): k2, cr4L

Rep row 1) to 6)

Worked my cable without cable needle:
cr4R --
insert right needle into 3rd &4th st purlwise from front, carefully slide left needle towards the left, leaving the 3rd & 4th st on right needle, and 1st & 2nd st off left needle (st will be at the back), insert left needle back into 1st & 2nd st, put 3rd st & 4th back onto left needle, k4

cr4L --
insert right needle into 3rd & 4th st from back, carefully slide left needle towards the left, leaving the 3rd & 4th st on right needle, and 1st and 2nd off left needle (sts will be at the front), insert left needle back into 1st and 2nd st, put 3rd & 4th st back onto left needle, k4

12/7/11:
Finally started working on this project again. Shouldn’t have left it for so long as I’ve already forgotten which row to cable!

1/2/12:
Finished! Omitted the decrease to achieve the flare/wave bottom and sleeves. Need to take some photos.

1/23/12: added photos.
