Sultan is one of my favourite colors of wollmeise and it was hard to wind the yarn - but I hope I have found the perfect pattern.
Casted on 304 stitches and knitted 20 rounds with sultan - this is going to be “folded” beneath the first border as a kind of ribbing.
I just had to take a picture of how well it knits up. I have a few projects I need to get done so this will only be a “work-knit” up until I have finished my Vestfoldkofte.
This pattern is in Norwegian only but there is a free english and norwegian alternative here.
I am thinking of having 13 stripes of each color when adding the arms - 14 rows on each of the arms are the plan.
When I knit with two colors I use both continental and English style. You can see this at the beginning of this video.
83 grams of sultan left when finished arms and the body.
I did 14 raglan decreases and decreased to size L before the star pattern. I do not want a wide neck area and hope by decreasing it will fit perfectly.
Looking forward to see how the stars will turn out with sultan.
Ran out of sultan and had to do the last 3 rows white (they won’t show since they are behind the neckline).
Total weight: 585 grams of yarn used. 2 full skeins of sultan and the rest natur.
Changes of I were to knit this once more. I would do 11 or 12 stripes of each color and then add the arms - it became a bit long with 13 like I did now. I also think it is a bit wide in the neck so perhaps do 3 repeats of the 4x4.
My mother modelled for me :)
