Notes

My aunt wanted this with black as main color. I got a test sample from my LYS.

11 skeins black
2 skeins red
3 skeins yellow
2 skeins green

A size 36 and I think I have very much yarn for this small size.

Casted on 221 stitches on 3.0mm needles and did 6 cm 1x1 ribbing.
Put aside 10+10 stitches and increased the rest to 241 stitches. changed to 3.5mm needles and noticed I needed to have 4.0 mm needles when I got to the first red round.

Arms: 3.0mm and 6 cm 1x1 ribbing - increased to 66 stitches and changed to 3.5mm needles.

AAARGH how is it possible to centre 66 stitches when each pattern repeat has 20 stitches? So I decreased down to 60 stitches for the pattern on the arm and will increase when that is done.

I actally dislike this pattern. I have to centre all the charts (yellow and red parts) to make it fit - but the stitch count never is close to matching the 20 stitch repeat!

I have 2 skeins yellow left.

Really nervous when cutting the fabric. But I think I managed to get one step closer finishing this jacket :)
Hope I have enough black!!

Oh well. I am crossing my fingers that my LYS has more black from the same dyelot. I need one more skein - and they actually gave me one skein extra when I bought everything…

Yeeei got the same dyelot and also some help from my LYS. Now I understand what to do with the collar (pattern on RS and WS) Have to learn how to do that…

I did english purl on the ws for the pattern. Remember if I am to do this again (can horses fly?) that it isn’t 7 stitches added to the collar but 5 on each side.

It went great knitting pattern on ws - not hard at all! Finished knitting - have to weave in some ends and do the last finish and then rush to my aunt so that she can use it in two days for my daughters konfirmasjon (sweet 16).

I AM SOOOO HAPPY!!! I finished it and I am so pleased! I had to try it on (had a large tunic underneath) - inserted buttons and blocked it and my aunt cried when she got it. She was so happy (and that made my day!)
