I cast on 80 stitches, knit 8 inches for the leg, 7 inches with 2 x 2 rib all around, then another inch with 2x2 on half the stitches (instep) and stst on the other half (heel).

I worked a Fish Lips Kiss heel (not the most attractive, but it’s easy to do and fits great), then continued the foot working the instep stitches in 2x2 and the sole in stst.

I finished off each sock with a standard round toe, but the socks ended up being too long. So I unraveled the toe back 2 rounds before the second toe decrease round, and redid the toe with one fewer round between the decrease rounds. This resulted in a less pointy toe, and a better fit.
