Notes

Just some plain mitts for my son so that he can try fingerless mitts to see whether he likes them.

I cast on 48 stitches and knit 3 inches (30 rounds) of 3 x 1 ribbing, then started the thumb gusset, did gusset increases every 3rd row until I had 19 gusset stitches. I knitted 16 rounds for the hand, then cast off using sewn cast off.

For the thumb I picked up the 19 gussest stitches, then picked up and knit 3 stitches along the hand which on the next round I decreased to 1 stitch by ssk-ing the first one with the last stitch on the 2d needle and knitting the last one together with the first stitch on needle 1. Then I worked 8 rounds of 3 x 1 ribbing and cast off.
