Notes

This is my first pair of socks knitted with my handspun yarn. I only started spinning on July 12, 2012. The yarn, which was spun on drop spindles, is a fingering-weight 3-ply that is somewhat overspun. Hey, I’m still learning.

I cast on 20 stitches using Judy’s Magic Cast On, increased up to 76 stitches using the formula from Chrissy Gardiner’s shaped round toe, and worked garter rib on 28 instep stitches, plain stocking stitch on 28 sole stitches.

Garter Rib:
rnd 1: k2, p2
rnd 2: knit

I worked a short-row heel on 60% of the stitches. When I do a short-row heel, I wrap the stitches, but I don’t pick up and knit the wrap. I just let them be.

The leg is Garter Rib, and the sock is finished off with 20 rounds of 2 x 2 ribbing.
