The needles I used are actually 4.25 mm.

This is a pattern of my own design, but, of course, I was inspired by another knitter’s design. I saw a picture of some beautiful fingerless mitts that had a folded cuff on the finger end that could be unfolded to provide warmth to the finger tips but still leave the skin accessible for devices, etc. I thought that was a good idea, so these mitts were born.

They are knitted from beginning to end in 2 x 2 ribbing with a RT (right twist) cable added on the back of the hand. If you left the cable out, the mitts would be reversible, that is, you could wear either mitt on either hand. But the RT adds a little fancy to an otherwise totally plain mitt.

Anyway, I knitted the wrist cuff about 5 inches long so that it can be folded over, and then I knitted the finger cuff until it reached the tip of my longest finger. I had one skein of Cascade 220 and had a little yarn left over.
