After ripping out several false starts due to choosing the wrong yarn (this needs a solid colour and something plain and shiny and not likely to pill, IMHO) and due to my total N00b errors using the unfamiliar chart method of knitting, I’m feeling more confident, although this is some non-intuitive cabling. Not the easiest pattern to read, and the original is missing cabling instructions for lines 13 and 31 (cable 2 back, knit 2, knit 2 from cable). The one and only detailed photo next to the cable pattern is distracting because it only demonstrates the cable itself - doesn’t show the complex slipped selvedge / moss stitch / stockinette / twisted cable border. Also wish the pattern had been a bit more explicit in “set up the scarf pattern” section, to explain that when you purl 2 between the moss (seed) stitch and the twisted mini-cable, you should knit 2 on the even rows to achieve stockinette, not purl 2 back to get garter. I misunderstood and now my mini-cable isn’t standing out proudly as it ought.
