Starting this project with my fingers crossed that 411 yards of this DK weight yarn will make the shawl, given my tight knitting and a 4mm needle - nervous!

March 25: Have used 1 skein of yarn and just started at skein number 2 (about 150 yards knitted) - have completed 12 repeats of the budding lace pattern, am at 171 stitches. This is the first set of photos.

April 3: Got to 4 rows from completion and ran out of yarn. Tried vainly to bind off, but didn’t have enough yarn for that either. Have decided now is not the time to frog back and seek more yarn; now is the time for a gin and tonic. :(

June 11: Three skeins was NOT enough, alas. Ordered one last skein of yarn from WEBS to complete the shawl - it arrived a few weeks ago, but I was in the grips of my other shawl by then. Did one extra set of yarnovers, then finished the last 4 rows and bound off today at last. 32g/88yds yarn left in the 4th ball of Tupa.

Blocked and ready for my cousin’s wedding in July! :)
