I need to have this done by August 10th for my coworker’s baby shower so the Ravellenic Games gives me the perfect kick in the arse.

I didn’t think it was possible but I found that one can knit both the hat and baby socks with one skein of KPPPM and still have some yarn left over. One-Skein Wonders is a terrific book if you are looking to bust through some sock yarn stash.

I knit the hat with 16” ADDI Turbo needles before switching to my trusty Crystal Palace DPNs to finish this off. My favorite thing about this hat is the little icord at the top! The purple yarn has streaks of blue and pink in it and is quite lovely to look at not to mention knit with. I finished blocking at about 8:30am this morning 7/31/12 and I think my friend will be pleased!
