You underestimate the power of the Dark Side.

My 9 YO son is obsessed with Star Wars, so this hat will be perfect for him this fall/winter. A very fun and quick knit. I love the opportunities for customization.

Did 10 rows of 2x2 ribbing (increasing on the 10th row.) I omitted a couple of charts, changed the text (The Force Is Strong With This One), and added a Darth Vader chart after reviewing some of the other projects. I also opted to keep this a two-color hat because I love the high contrast of black and white. At first I wanted to do all storm troopers and only one darth vader, but I selfishly enjoyed knitting the combination of the two charts. To make the hat a bit more slouchy, I knit a few rows of black and two white stripes at the top instead of the included chart and before starting my decreases. I might try a Sith inspired hat next time just for fun. Q loved his hat and had fun showcasing my knitting even if he is recovering from summer stitches (bummer!) and it is 90 degrees. Light sabers when you are 9 make everything better.
