Mods: the Ultra Alpaca stretches or sags a bit more than 100% wool, so I only knit 4 repeats of the cable pattern before moving on to the decreases.

I like the finished knit, but I found the knitting up to be on the fiddly side. I’d do it again for the hat, but it wasn’t my favorite WIP. I wish I could figure out how to knit the cables without a cable needle, but every time I tried, the stitches started slipping.

Will make a nice Xmas gift for my father. My partner knit him a soft, squishy scarf in Misti Alpaca Chunky (see third picture), which is an amazingly close color match.
