3/28/2012: Inspired by the look of the Dipped Infinity Scarf, which I tried to knit but couldn’t stand how it curled because I’m picky like that. I’m using a different edging and a slipped pattern stitch to get a fabric that won’t curl. I am really, really liking how it is turning out.

I plan to type up the pattern to share.

4/15/2012: The quilted stitch pattern eats yarn (so a good stash-buster) so there are a lot of stitches per row - but really, not that many rows. This one goes fast.

I love the color combination of the sock yarns I chose and am now thinking about knitting it in handspun too, before I type up and release the pattern.

5/1/2012: I’m stalled on the bind-off. I planned to use the outline stitch bind off because it matches the long-tail cast on, but I do not like how it it looking so far. I think I am having trouble keeping it tight enough. It’s also tedious. I’m putting this on time out while I knit a handspun cowl-size version and try some different bind-off options. I’ve used about 260 yards of each color.

I have some test knitters for this pattern but it’s still in the designing phase.

6/30/2012: I am now hoping the new book on cast-ons and bind-offs will help me solve my bind off issue. Just got to pick a copy up…

7/23/2012: After several more attempts at binding off, I am done with this cowl/scarf. Hallelujah! Working on the pattern now…
