Adjusting for handspun sport weight yarn: I got 22 sts/4 inches or 5.5 sts/in on US 3s in my gauge swatch. Cast on 112 sts on 7/17/2015.

Knit two inches in 2x2 rib until I switched to stockinette. I’m using US 3 needles throughout. Love how this handspun is knitting up!

I started off planning a typical ribbed/stockinette hat, but then decided to use the Sugar Maple Hat pattern. To match up with the pattern, on the last row of knitting to make the nine inches from cast on, I decreased two stitches evenly to wind up with 110 sts. I then followed the pattern as written to decrease.

I’m not used to wearing slouchy hats, but going to master it because I really love how this knit up. The yarn is gorgeous!
