Notes

(Yes, I have already made this pattern twice. I spent some time looking through patterns for a nice infinity scarf that would use all the yarn show off this gradient handspun well, and this pattern just seemed to be the best one.)

Cast on 10/22/2013. The yarn is a little thinner than worsted, so I am using US 5 needles and cast on 250 sts instead of 240. Four rows in, my gauge is closer to 4.5 sts/in than 5, so this might be big - but I’m keeping going, because I really do want to use all the yarn.

This ended up hibernating during the holiday knitting cycle and my scrappy hats for Halos for Hope craziness. I pulled it back out in mid-February 2014 and had it done in short order.

I did break the yarn during the purple/gray section. This is the color combo I ended up with the most of, due to some uneven spinning or plying, so I removed enough for 2-3 of the long rows. My color changes therefore ended up being close to: 24 rows purple, 24 rows grey/purple, 8 rows grey, 24 rows grey/lavender, and 20 rows lavender. Yes, I had to bind off a few rows short. Not sure you can really tell though!

I am really loving this FO! The welted pattern makes it thick and warm. The merino/silk is soft for my very picky neck. I really like how the gradient turned out. My new favorite scarf!

Need to weigh to confirm yardage.
