So excited about this sweater! And I finished it while it’s still wintery out, so I might actually have a chance to wear it! Yay!
I lengthened the body and the sleeves on this to about 16 inches for the body and 18 inches for the sleeves. I think the reason they photographed this for the magazine with the model sitting down and wearing bracelets is because it’s too small, as written.
I had a little trouble with the stitch count when I started the colorwork section, but I didn’t spend time trying to figure out where I messed up or if the pattern was wrong or whatever. I just adjusted a little to get it to the right number of stitches. I kind of wish I would have skipped the two rounds of main color on the yoke before I started the colorwork, so the colorwork would start lower and the neckline would be slightly lower as well, but it’s fine this way too. The neck was a little higher than I anticipated, so I left off the neck ribbing because I didn’t want it to look like a turtleneck.
I don’t love the lhdc, but it’s alright here. I think a sweater with sc, like the other fair isle sweater in this magazine, would be a little smoother and nicer looking, but I still really like this sweater and am very happy with how it came out.
