Made this as a bri-- ::cough:: gift for the landlady as a thank you for being a dear and returning all of our deposit, as we’re ending our contract on Sunday! Did 10 repeats for a bit of a longer bookmark. Also, on the (DC, C1) rows, I went through the back loops only on the previous row to get a defined line of stitches on the fan which I though was a nice touch.
Looking at other projects, I might be the only one who had an issue with the written pattern, but I found it a little difficult to tell what exactly to repeat when. I ended up attaching the end of each DC row to the 2nd picot of the previous fan, and each picot row beginning to the 7th picot of the fan two down.
Instead of a tassel, I’m adding two long chains with a tiny wee pine cone at the end of each. Our apartment is located in a neighborhood in Rome called Pigneto; the name comes from the pine trees that lined the main street, so the pine cones are a nod to the area she helped us call home for the past four years!
I’m using the pine cone pattern from PlanetJune:
