Ended up ripping this out.
Time to admit to myself that I can no longer knit with dark yarn. Even with 3X embiggening glasses and bright lamp, it is just frustrating.

14 nov 2016
did 1st-ever provisional CO…hope it’s right.
Knitted to middle of first earflap.
15 nov: knitted flat section
16 nov: to center of second earflap
18 nov: 2nd earflap and 5 rows of flat section done.
20 nov: had to pull out several rows for error in central section. Now knit to 166 rows; waiting for suggestion on grafting technique from MDK Lounge.
