Finished at 11” and 131 rows. Used Jeny’s stretchy bind off (yay for new skills!) and wove in tails. Will block this week. 38” around pre-blocking.

Hand wound yarn ball three last night; definitely going to have to join it up tonight to get to 11”. Two skeins looks like it’ll only take us to 9.5”.

Finally back to bigger than when I frogged it, and second yarn ball is joined. Need to learn how to tink without stretching the crap out of things, but finally can do undo mistakes while keeping the yarn legs the right direction!

Split a stitch and knit it twice last night. Figured it out almost 2 rows later. Tried to go back and fix but kept dropping stitches down too far. Ended up ripping out the whole thing (with 90% of the yarn ball done!) and re-casting on. Oh well, at least the fuzzed cast on stitches will be gone. GRRRRR

First experiment in the round! Let’s see how long it takes to get this cast on and joined correctly.

UPDATE: Cast on 220 stitches. After 5 recounts, started over and added stitch markers every 20st (which I removed once I got into the pattern). Hopefully they don’t make the CO row look weird.

Made the tail way too long, but I guess that’s better than too short. Spent infinite amount of time trying to make sure the first row wasn’t twisted. Eventually discovered I had won that battle… a day later.

Used video for ‘invisible join in the round’, which seems to be fairly… invisible. Neat.
