I was born in Croatia and Slavonian oak is the national tree of Croatia. On the northern Adriatic island where I grew up and still have a house there are beautiful, green oak woods that I know so well and every autumn walk in their shades for hours, looking for mushrooms.

I found this lovely oak leaf pattern in one of Japanese magazines and decided to knit a homage to my homeland.

26/4 - separated front and back, yarn is very nice to work with, but pattern is not big enough to be interesting … quite boring all this stockinette

06/05 - done! since I had less than usual quantity of yarn (bought this 400 and something grams in Filmarket store for 14 euro) I made this one quite close fitted with 0 ease. I prefer at least an inch of positive ease, but I could not risk running out of yarn
