Notes

with modifications from the big big socks:

made bigger and thicker than the pattern.

used the turkish cast on instead of judy’s - and LOVE it!

cast on with double strand - 20 st - and increased to 40 st.

then alternate yarns to make stripes up to the heel, 6.5”. added st for heel, knit 2 strands together on heel to 40 st heel and alternating stripes on 20 st top of foot.

than after heel is turned, and stitches are decreased by turning of the heel to 18 front, 20 back, continue alternating stripes on front and k2 p2 with doubled strands on back of calf for 32 rows. then 8 rows k2 p2 doubled yarn all around.

cast off in purl - using red yarn only….

c’est ca! very thick - will keep the toes warm and uncramped, the body of the foot snugged, the calf cozied.
