2017 Pair No 2.
Alex is motorcycling around our beautiful country. We first met in Turkey and stayed with him at his home in France on our last trip.
It’s nice to return the hospitality.
The special thing about Alex is that he has a prosthetic leg and the big joke (that he makes) is that a pair of socks last twice as long. The prosthetic limb doesn’t wear out the sock/s so he gets better wear from socks than the rest of us!
However I think I will go crazy with just one colour! The picture looks odd because the socks are large and my sock block is only a medium PLUS the increased stitches on the sole!
This yarn is very fine and I had to increase the number of stitches dramatically by making increases in the sole before the short row began and going up from 68 stitches to 80 stitches. This made the progress up the leg very slow and rather monotonous…but they’re done and they’re very fine socks indeed…. let’s hope they fit him ok.
