Notes

I’m getting pretty good at these toe-up socks for me. This is my 4th (I think) pair and I can do them without thinking (but I still need markers for the gusset sts) and they fit well.

I start at the bottom with 2.5mm needles, change the heel turn and flap to 2.0mm, change both needles to 3.0mm for the cuff.

I have a high instep and short row socks just do not fit my feet at all. I’ve tried other gusseted toe-up socks that were not wide enough to go over my heel, so with a bit of trial and error, this pattern was the absolute best.

I noticed that my prior toe up socks were a bit tight (gah!) at the bind off, so I took them all out and redid them with the K2tog tbl, k1, return to left needle and k2tog tbl. That made a nice stretchy bind off, but it is a bit sloppy looking. On the 2nd sock of this pair, I tried that bind off using P2tog instead of the k2tog tbl. The bind off is just as stretchy, but does not look so loose and sloppy. You can easily see the difference!
