Very intriguing cable pattern! My first experience with an afterthought thumb. Made some changes - used size 8 needle to get better hand with yarn. 1st mitt too tight, added 2 sts to total # for 2nd mitt. Added an extra st to the afterthought sts for larger thumb area. Knit thumbs on size 7 needles.

I think I’m not a fan of the afterthought thumb. I loved this cable so next time I’ll do a regular gusseted thumb. I found the RH Soft yarn really split badly on these - maybe due to the sharp points on the Sunstuck needles?

I’m thinking of making a matching hat! :D
