I’ve had this pattern on my hard drive for a long, long time, and I decided I’d start knitting my socks from stash using my older patterns from stash. I have lots of years old sock yarns and even more years old sock patterns! Should be fun, eh?

I started this sock with Nancy Bush’s favorite Estonian cast on, followed by 2 rounds of knit and the 2 rounds of purl sts before starting the rib. This is a stretchy cast on and I think I like it. :)

After the rib, I tried following the pattern instructions for RT and LT (right and left twist) sts and failed miserably. I went to YouTube and found a couple of different takes on the methods, none of which is like the way the pattern author instructed. I found it much easier to follow the YouTube instructions and have just about finished the cuff of the first sock. I don’t think I’ll be continuing the twisted st pattern down the foot - I don’t usually put patterning on the feet of my socks due to circulation problems.

Oct 2015 -- I finally dug these socks out of hibernation and finished them. I didn’t find these project notes until I was adding the finished socks (again), but I have combined everything now so only one entry. :) I really had a hard time with the pattern st - every single st on every other row is twisted and I couldn’t do it without a cable needle. Needless to say, these socks took a long time to finish. whew!! But they are done and off my mind and into the sock drawer! :)
