Simple cabled hat with 3x3 cables twisted every 8 rounds and 2x2 cables twisted every 4 rounds. I would rather they were front cables, but they are Back cables. Not terribly hard at this weight and with pointy needles. This acrylic yarn feels very squeaky after so many hats in a row with wool blend yarns.

The decreasing at the top doesn’t even try to carry the cables up - K2tog increases spiral down to 7 sts before closing the sts with the tail of the yarn.

I knit the body of this hat completely wrong! The Pattern Rows go from 1-10, but then in the next paragraph the instructions say Repeat rows 3-10! I totally missed that - and I studied those instructions for a long time. (rolling eyes ceiling-ward). I even sent a comment to the designer, who was so gracious and when she wrote “rounds 3-10” I actually SAW it and it sank in. Sheesh. I just couldn’t figure out how all those finished projects looked so much different from my hat and why nobody mentioned the “odd” number of plain rounds. Anyway, I’ve editied all my posts with photos of the hat and increased the star value of this pattern. Too bad there isn’t a “stupidity score” for the knitter! LOL
