I love this pattern! This is my very first cabled hat and I chose this pattern only because I had it printed already and I’m having printer problems. :D Talk about lucky!! I’ve made the snake cables before, so I didn’t think I’d have any problems with the pattern, but it fooled me anyway! I prefer charts to written out patterns, and the words confused me - I left out 3 plain rounds between cable crosses. Oh well, it still fit me (and my fat head) and it was fast so I’m sure I’ll make more

I used Willow Yarns Burrow, a worsted wt yarn instead of the bulky wt called for in the pattern. I used a size 10 needle and the hat was plenty big and the fabric was still very nice. Crochet cast on, changed to size 9 needle at the first decrease round.
