Phooey! Eclectic Heel is a big failure! See bottom photo - the destructions as written are for a “regular” heel turn, only 1/2 of a SRH, so with a 1 inch gusset make a heel that my foot will never fit thru, let alone my high instep. argh!

So - I’ve decided to use a shorter-than-my-normal heel flap (2-1/2” rather than 3”) and then a “rounder heel” (instead of my usual square/Dutch heel) to qualify for the new technique pts. This will be my first time trying the rounder heel. The decreases start in the middle of the heel rather than at the 1/3 point, so I’ll be decreasing in the opposite manner than I’m used to. I will still do the flap and heel in garter stitch for the cush factor. :)

Flap = 2-1/2”, rounder heel start at 1/2sts +4. Since the flap is worked, as usual, on 1/2 my total sts, the foot length before toe is 6”. I worked 3 of the 16 row repeat for the cuff, after a 1.5” rib.
