This is the Ripple Stitch dishcloth from the Crochenit Towels & Dishcloths book. The patterns in the book all call for a size M Crochenit Hook, but this pattern is a multiple of 18 sts, so I really didn’t want a huge cloth. I used Dishie, which I think is thinner than the other worsted wt kitchen cottons, and a size G hook. Very different from the pattern specs!

I had a bit of a problem with this pattern at first until I thought about it for a bit. It’s just familiar old Feather and Fan, done with a hook thru the top horizontal bar. Duh! I was thinking too hard and it stumped me.

Anyway, I got a nice sized cloth from this and I learned a good way to carry up the colors along the side. Of course, I didn’t try that new way until the last 4 or 5 rows, but it worked great! :D I didn’t like working thru the horizontal bar much until it occurred to me to do my return pass a bit more loosely. Then it wasn’t hard at all to get the hook thru the chain loops on the pick-up pass.

Only one more cloth from this booklet and then I’m on to another book!
