Notes

I gave these socks to Jan Harris in July 2014.

This is another sock yarn that looked a lot better before I bought it than it did after I knit my socks. :) It’s always hard to decide (for me anyway) which colors are actually in those balls of variegated or multi-colored sock yarns and what the fabric will look like after it’s knit up.

I like the Berroco Sox yarn, but this color is not my favorite. sigh Thankfully, the lace breaks up the colors and the colors completely hide the lace. :) The socks fit well and will be long-wearing and they will hide very well under my pants and in my shoes, so I guess I can live with that ugly rusty brown stripe.

The pattern is “Vine Lace” from Barbara Walker Treasury #1, p218. This is a dead easy pattern - the very same pattern row, offset by 1 st, is repeated twice to make the vine lace. Repeat of 9 sts in the round.

all odd rows are knit
