I found that 11 repeats of the stripe pattern, plus one more blue section yielded the desired length of 75.5”.

26 rows in the blue sections, with the color change to grey on the last stitch of the 26th row.

Used the recommended method for color changes (in the pattern instructions) because it keeps everything in the stripes aligned correctly so that the scarf is truly double-sided.
