Technically, I am improvising the design. Realistically, I am trying out a variation of the typical miles-a-minute pattern. The only major difference is that I want this triangle-shaped. So what I am doing is:
CO 4
K, K, Ktbl, K until last 2 stitches, K, Ktbl, K
K all stitches
K, (YO x 3), K
Repeat all sections in edgy brackets until end of row. Repeat above pattern section until the triangle has desired length (or the yarn is close to finished, erhm…), then
CO all stitches
Weave in ends with tapestry needle
The part in italics in the first pattern repeat of course, has no “K until kast 2 stitches” inside, since there were only 4 stitches on the needle.
Since this yarn is diverging between thin parts and really thick slubs, I am using an US 13. With the YO x 3 parts, there are really large gaps inbetween. I hope to give this peace a really skeletized look. After all, this is all about the dia de los muertos.

It took me longer than expected, I guess I was just busy. :-) So, the triangle is blocked and the pictures will come soon. Unfortunately, I was 5 inches short of yarn, which I replaced by a short piece of black yarn. You wouldn’t notice it, I already examined it. I’d rather do it this way than have leftover yarn for nearly a full row.
