I improvised on standard crocheting techniques, alternating rows of single, half-double and double crochet stitches. Frankly, I had to undo several rows again twice before finding the correct amount of increase rows to fit for my beanie. I came up with 8 increase rows.

Not only does it fit comfortably, but also the rest of my skein is used up.
