Hank yarn, steam then ball - After trying this approach my swatch measured 3” x 3-5/8” on a recommended size 6 needle. Found the ColourMart group (Yay) and am now washing as recommended. The yarn is noticeably plumper. Hope this gets me closer to my gauge.

After washing the yarn I moved up to size 7 needles.
Cast on last night(5-23-12). The yarn is very soft ,very springy and splits rather easily. It looks rather uneven until you block it, but looks lovely after blocking.

I have placed markers at the beginning of the pattern as well as at the spaces indicated by the pattern. Using a different color to keep it all straight.

After discovering a mistake about 1-1/2 repeats into the sweater. I took it back to the ribbing and am now using a life line at the end of pattern repeat. I am also placing yarn markers at the pm points. Once I could see the pattern clearly I no longer needed the life line.

This was my first time doing short rows and it went smoothly and looks very nice.
