I’ve been eyeing off this pattern for ages and decided it would be a good Tour de France pattern.
After a tricky start with the circular cast on not working as well as I’d like, it’s coming along nicely.

16 July - Finished. It was too big and didn’t felt enough with a quick burst in the dryer so I machine washed it on 60 degrees and it felted down nicely.

I knitted up a 5 stitch icord to cover the seam and finished off with an old wooden button.

The cast off on the crown was a bit tight so it gathered up a bit rather than the crown sitting completely flat, but the felting evened that out. Next time I’ll use a larger needle to cast off.

I chose the knit in brim, but it doesn’t flare out as much as I wanted so next time I’ll do a plain brim.

I’ve ordered another skein, this time in navy blue to make another as I love this one so much.
