Notes

notes:

i ended up using just one skein of this yarn - the cowl measured in at 10” high as it was, and I didn’t want to add even more height to it.

also, added a picot edging to both ends, to give myself a new technique for OWL purposes. unfortunately, no matter how i tried to photograph this cowl, you can’t really see the edging. hmmm.

adevinelife of Gryffindor here, submitting my proposal for a Transfiguration OWL.

I have selected Option 4, to vanish at least 1800 yards of yarn.

My goal will be to make two Project Linus blankets for babies being born by friends/family in the coming months. Each blanket will use three skeins of “I Love This Yarn” from Hobby Lobby, and at approximately 355 yards per skein, each blanket will use just over 1,000 yards of yarn.

The challenge in this OWL comes not from the pattern but the sheer knitting time needed to make each blanket.

In the past I’ve knit a Project Linus blanket in anywhere from one to two months, so this will definitely push my skills as a knitter to accomplish this OWL while also sitting for at least 12 classes and competing in Quidditch!

I will also be knitting a cowl, which I will be donating to Nest Maine. This cowl has a picot edging, which I’ve never performed before.
