Was looking for a cute shrug pattern but couldn’t find anything I liked, then saw Doris Chan’s Chloe Cardigan. I liked the v-neck and the very pretty stitch pattern. Figured I could modify it to get what I had in mind. (I’m really spoiled by Doris’ top-down patterns!!)

Followed pattern down to band, skipped band and kept going for a few more rows. I did some decreases at the bottom front corners to get a more rounded corner. Skipped band on sleeve and did two more rows for a little longer sleeve. Crocheted ruffle around shrug and sleeves.

Started this in June to go with my new dress and got the body done down to the last 3 rows, then put it aside for awhile as I was so busy with hula and quilting. Picked it back up in early August and had to figure out where I left off… Finished it just before my trip to E Hula Mau in Long Beach with my hula sisters. It was cool near the beach and in the theater, so was really glad I had this. Love Love Love the shrug and the dress together. The dress needed shortening so had to remove the ruffle, shorten the dress, then sew the ruffle back on before I could wear this outfit. My hula sisters proclaimed they looked good, but that I looked adorable! (made a matching flower hair clip to wear in my hair, too!)
