I used Vanna’s Choice yarn and, I’m pretty sure, a G hook rather than an I hook as called for in the pattern (which is probably why it’s not a smooth cap shape).

I followed pattern through round 22, did one more round sc even and sl st to first sc of this round. Then did one round sc in blo (sl st at end of round, and ch 2), two rounds of fpdc/bpdc (sl st at end of each round, and ch 2 at end of first fpdc/bpdc rounnd, ch 1 at end of second fpdc/bpdc round). 31 sc, the follow instructions for brim from row 2. Finished off with a round of sc.

I have a small head (21 1/2”) and this fits me - it sits just above my ears. If you have a larger head, you might have to do another increase round, and/or do more even sc rounds after round 23 for more length.

I like this hat and get lots of compliments when I wear it.
