I used 2 skeins of yarn for this shawl (but had plenty left over). I add an extra 4-row repeat to add to the wingspan so I could drape the shawl more loosely around my neck. This made the shawl an awkward length on the side for the border repeat, so you can see that my top corner fringes sit closer together. I would recommend doing two 4-row repeats if you really want to make it longer so that the border pattern stays the same.
