I crocheted (slip stitch) the seams, mattress stitched the button bands.
Not really keen on how the sleeves sit, a bit baggy under the arm (the armhole is a bit deep), but we’ll see how it wears. It fits nicely. :-)
Yay, all the knitting is done. The sleeves and fronts are blocking (despite instructions not to block before seaming). I wonder how long I’ll put off the sewing up?
The back and two fronts are done. I’m doing elbow length sleeves (I cast on 65 stitches, and will do fewer decreases to make the length work). They’re half done (doing both at the same time). The bands are mostly knitting, so once the sleeves are done, it’ll be lots of seaming and finishing!
Finished the back, and the left front. And then realised that when I did the rib for the right front, I forgot the buttonholes! :-s After I night contemplating using snap fasteners, I’m unravelling the right front rib.
Also, I encountered an issue with the number of decreases in the front for the size I’m doing - but it could be my problem - will see when I do the other side!
Yay, the back is finished! Now to get to work on the fronts (glad I’ve got a head start on the rib)! :-)
Several inches of lace without shaping, nowo that I’m past the armholes on the back. :-)
I’ve done one repeat of the lace on the back (after the ribbing) and finished the rib for one front, and almost the other - had a day where I forgot the back, and needed something to knit in the movies!
I’ve been craving an orange cardi for ages, but I didn’t want a heavy one. So, I was stoked to see this 5ply orange in the shop!
I’m working a larger size in the pattern to counter the finger gauge. Going for a snug fit, also - so there was a lot of maths before starting (and no doubt there will be throughout)!
