I’m hoping that knitting the large size on slightly bigger needles will give me a larger shawl. I plan to use the Cowkiller (maroon color) for the main triangle and a stripe between the lace section and edging, done in the barely-dyed Sweet Pea.
7/6/10 -- Up to about 90 stitches of the garter triangle. I love it so far. There’s a lot of interesting variation in the Cowkiller color.
I plan to step this up in size, as I should have enough yarn. I will increase the counts for the large size by an additional 32 stitches (the difference between the small and large). So for the garter triangle, I will knit until there are 186 stitches, and I will pick up 92 loops on each side.
7/9/10 -- 113 stitches on needle… garter garter garter…
7/24/10 -- Knit to 186 stitches on needle and bound off with size 9. My skein must have been oversized, as the shawl weighs 125g so far and I have 13g (~47 yards) of yarn in MC remaining.
11/22/10 -- Finally beginning edging!
11/28/10 -- KNITTING FINISHED! Time to block.
72” across, 32” down center. Love it.
