Notes

CO 49 sts with 2.75mm Kollage square needles
Gauge 8 sts/in in stockinette

9/25 -- body of first mitt finished

11/3 -- second mitt body finished, just need thumbs.

If I knit these again I would go up a needle size and add an extra repeat to the cuff (3 total before thumb gusset) so it would go further up my chubby arms. Then I’d switch to the normal needle size. Did 6 total repeats of pattern and ended on row 3.

I changed the thumb, as it was the whole meaty part of my palm near the thumb was sticking out of the thumb hole so instead of picking up the 20 held stitches plus the 2 stitches between the gap, I picked up 10. I knit three rounds and then decreased K8, K2tog (3 stitches each round) until I had 18 on the needles. Then I knit plain until there were 15 total rows from where I picked up and I did 3 rows of K1tbl, P1 and bound off in pattern with a stretchy bindoff. I like the thumb a lot better this way, it’s longer and provides enough coverage near the base that the glove is not overly stretched out over my palm.
