May 12, 2012 Alright, this has been a bit of a tough start. I’ve had to restart a few times, and it’s just been a huge tangled mess of yarn. Things appear to finally be taking off though knock on wood. I just started the fair isle section. It’s my first time doing fair isle, but I’m 4 rows in and it seems to be going okay.
May 25, 2012 Finally gotten the chance to work some more on the fair isle part. I think I have found my new knitting love. I love doing all the different colors. It was scary at first, but I actually stayed up way late to keep working on it, and I’ve never stayed up way late to knit before.
July 19, 2012 Okay, so long time no update. It has been slow going, but it is still going. I got kinda bored during the 7 inches of ribbing. Kinda boring after the neat-o fair-isle part. But I got it done. I’ve also finished the heel flap and have the heel turned. I’ve picked up the stitches and just started decreasing the gusset. Still pretty happy with the project, but my gauge on the heel was looser than the ribbing and the heel looks a little funky to me. But maybe with finishing the sock and blocking, it will look okay.
August 14, 2012 The end is in sight! I am ready to move on, but I am excited to finish as well. It will be an excellent feeling of accomplishment. I have about ½“ left on the foot before starting the toe. Yay!
August 31, 2012 I’M DONE!! They aren’t perfect, but not bad for a first try! Blocking them this weekend, and then giving them to my mom!
